The Cybersecurity Act establishes a legal framework for the oversight and maintenance of national cybersecurity in Singapore, with an emphasis on the proactive protection of critical information infrastructure (CII) against cyber-attacks. The Act also provides for the appointment of a Commissioner of Cybersecurity to administer the Act, including the regulation of CII and the licensing of cybersecurity service providers; as well as authorises the Cybersecurity Agency of Singapore to prevent and respond to cybersecurity threats and incidents.
